My heart races every time I see a pregnant woman because she is in a state of grace.  I am so
honored to be included in her miraculous birth experience.  I believe in women and their ability to
bring life into this world with little or no intervention.

I am aware of how profoundly affected parents can be by the birth of their children.    They will
carry these images and emotions with them for the rest of their lives.  Each family will discover
where their beliefs lie.  It is my ardent desire to help parents optimize their birth experiences.  I
respect al
l philosophies and feel privileged to have a unique experience with every family I work
with.

As far back as nursing school I received the obstetrics award at graduation.  I was voted most
likely to become a midwife by my nursing class and teachers.  During my years as an LPN I gained
an abundance of  medical knowledge but I was disappointed that I was given so little time with
patients.  I could see they craved more emotional and physical support.  I am grateful for those
years because it helped me realize I wanted to make the shift into the specialized field of doula
work.  I have always had passion for supporting women and families through this most precious
time of life.

As a doula I attend monthly educational meetings with other birth professionals.  I belong to Tampa
Bay Birth Network where I w
as featured in their February 2009 article.  I was also on the radio
discussing the role of a doula
on the radio show "What on Birth is Going on".  I have certification in
the “Birthing From Within” method of child birth education.
I am proud to be affiliated with Dona,
which stands for Doulas of North America.

I would be happy to attend you at home or in a hospital or birth center.
