Why use a doula?
Moms get one on one care. Starting with several visits before birth and continuing
postpartum visits.
They provide continuous support during labor. They hold mom's birth plan sacred and
encourage her to stay on course.
They give dads and partners a chance to be present with moms rather than distracted
by the numerous details and interruptions that can sometimes be part of the birth
process.
They reinforce comfort enhancing techniques moms and dads may have developed in
classes.
